This vital improvement, brought to life by CARDO Sierra Leone with the generous funding of Salonebuy, offers local farmers a reliable space to dry their harvests, reducing post-harvest losses and enhancing food security in the region. Drying floors are crucial in rural agricultural communities like Kasimberia. They provide a dedicated space where farmers can spread out their crops, such as cassava, groundnuts, pepper, and rice, to dry under the sun. This traditional drying method helps prevent mold and spoilage, which can be common issues in areas without modern drying facilities. With this newly resurfaced floor, Kasimberia’s farmers will be able to dry their produce more efficiently and with fewer losses.
